PetCareHero was created so New Zealand pet owners can find safe, well-priced boarding, daycare, and vet care without trawling through a dozen different websites. We bring every option into one place, side by side, so you can compare and book with confidence.
Why we built this
Finding the right place to leave your dog or cat is stressful. Prices are buried, opening hours are inconsistent, and you end up with twenty browser tabs trying to work out who has space and what they actually charge. We thought that should be easier.
So PetCareHero pulls real facility data — prices, services, suburbs, and contact details — into a single directory you can search in seconds. No sign-up, no fees, no markup. Just a clear comparison so you can make a good decision for your pet quickly.
How it works
- Search by city and suburb. Pick where you need care and we surface the facilities near you.
- Compare on what matters. Nightly rates, services offered, peak-season terms, and check-in windows — laid out so you can compare like for like.
- Contact the facility directly. When you find a good fit, you enquire and book straight with the provider. We never sit in the middle of your booking.
Independent by design
We are an independent third party — we do not own, operate, or employ any of the facilities listed on our site, and we take no payment from you for any booking. Our job is to give you accurate, comparable information; the care itself happens directly between you and the facility you choose.
We work hard to keep listings accurate, but prices and availability change, so always confirm the details with a facility before you book.
Who's behind PetCareHero
PetCareHero was founded by Dexter Yan, a Principal Engineer based in Auckland, New Zealand, whose background combines cloud infrastructure with a strong design sensibility. As a pet owner himself, he built the service he wished existed: one place to compare local pet care honestly, without the runaround.
