About
A rural boarding facility on 15 grassed exercise acres in Ardmore, South Auckland, just 5 minutes from the Southern Motorway. Operating since 2005, it houses dogs in individual indoor kennels across two separate buildings — one for small breeds and one for medium and large dogs — with outdoor runs for bigger dogs. What owners say
The girls are lovely and Ollie loves going to daycare. When he gets dropped off hes shaking with excitement and as soon as the staff say hello to him, he just wants to go and play. Lovely environment, friendly staff and very safe. Thanks Katy and the Auckland Kennel and Cattery team.

I am a regular with my dog “Shadow” at Auckland Kennel & Cattery, after returning home from work to a ripped up leather lounge suite, fluff everywhere! Something had to be done. He was six months at the time and obviously bored. I was very fortunate Katy & Ed had space at daycare for him, as a friend had recommended them to me. I can honestly say without hesitation he loves the day stays, socialisation with the other dogs, and the awesome staff. There has been one occasion AKC has been at full capacity during the holiday season with boarding and day stays, so even us regular’s have had to choose a day when its quiet. I would suggest if a spot becomes available, to take the opportunity to trial it out, you will become a regular, and your dog will love you for it. If my dogs happy and content, returning home totally stuffed I’m GRATEFUL. Thanks Team AKC

I have had my two cats stay in this cattery twice and I don’t think we will be returning. Overall, very nice staff, good location and pricing, cool catio area and no bad smell but my cats have come back with issues both times hence the two stars. The cattery area is small, very close to barking dogs. All cats are roaming free on arrival and their own spaces are quite small. No personal areas for the cats to hide. First time, both cats stayed for about 10 days and came back very scared (my cats are very friendly) and one of them came back with a urinary infection and had to go to the vet the next day. Second time was over the Christmas break, as soon as I dropped them off, all other cats were out of their cages and coming up to the crates to sniff them. Both of my cats were terrified and didn’t want to come out. Even when I was holding one of them she was hissing and holding onto me tightly. There was no soft introduction at all!! After this stay, my cats were really skittish over the smallest sound and wanted to hide the whole time. We saw photos of them posted on Facebook and they didn’t look relaxed at all! Really unfortunate because I thought this was a good cattery but I can’t justify traumatising them again. My recommendation to the business is to only have the same family of cats out at one time (or cats that are okay with socialising). Also allowing more areas for cats to hide if they are shy. First two photos are from the businesses Facebook page.

Absolutely amazing place and team . I have recently sent my 1 year old cat smokey here for his first cat holiday for 5 weeks while I was away. I was reassured every time i emailed or messaged them that smokey was doing great and even sent me weekly photos so i could see smokey . It was an absolutely amazing experience for my cat, who is very timid and shy, to mingle with other cats and make some friends while he was here. He has come home so happy after being at this cattery and I will definitely be bringing him back here again next time I go away. Great team and cattery

I can’t recommend this daycare enough! I send my puppy to daycare once a week, and she is so excited to go that she pulls me to reception in the mornings and when I pick her up she tears around the corner with a big smile on her face like she’s had the best day ever! I’ve also noticed a number of times she’s tried to shower members of the team in kisses which she only does when she really loves someone ❤️ Katy has always been so flexible like the time I showed up when daycare was closed for Christmas and she still took Lulu for the day or the 6mths that she kept Lulu’s space while I recovered from a head injury. And I love when I get updates at pickup about the friends she played with that day! It is so obvious through Lulu’s excitement, how well she’s taken care of and how much she loves her daycare. As Lulu’s mum it’s really nice for me to know she’s having the time of her life when I’m at work so thank you so much Katy and team!
