What pet owners say
Caring and professional staff I just wanted to pass on my thanks for the amazing staff during my recent vet appointment. Despite feeling unwell myself, they took great care of my dog to get her the care she needed and were so kind to me. I also want to say how well the staff handled a rude customer whilst I was there and they should be commended for how they dealt with the unfortunate interaction. They have been nothing but professional and caring to human and pet alike every time I’ve been there. Thanks again for being such an awesome team,

We are so grateful to the team at Pet First Queenstown for the incredible care they gave our beloved Zap. They went above and beyond to make him feel safe and loved, and they always treated us with such compassion and respect. As he was an older boy, surgery wasn’t an option we wanted to pursue, and the staff were amazing at always offering us thoughtful alternatives and working with us to make the best choices for his comfort. We never felt pressured, only supported. Even after his passing, they showed such kindness by giving us beautiful keepsakes, including paw and nose prints and a clipping of his fur, which we will treasure forever. It’s clear that they truly care, not just for the animals but also for the families. They made a very difficult time feel as simple and gentle as possible, and we couldn’t be more thankful.

I’m so appreciative of the time, effort, kindness, love and care that Meg and Ellie at Petfirst showed to both me, and my pooch Josh in recent weeks. It made the whole process 100x easier and it was obvious to see how much they truly care for the animals that come in. I highly recommend Petfirst, and can’t thank Meg + Ellie enough for their amazing efforts 🥰🐾🐶

I removed my dog from their care for fear of animal mistreatment or retaliation as they employ unstable and unprofessional staff. One of the vet assistants gave me an email with a maiori word to forward a request. I mentioned it was bad email because it's hard to pronounce and the receptionist got offended. She said "excuse me? I'm maori", stopped assisting me, and stormed inside the place where they keep the dogs. Other staff told me they're "on edge" today because tomorrow is a maori holiday (6 Feb 2026) (?!) This sensitivity is misplaced and better suited to other types of businesses. I want a calm, professional, and competent veterinary. I do not want to bring my dogs to a place where staff is going to mistreat my dog because I made a reasonable comment about an e-mail.
